Codisposal of industrial wastes in municipal landfills is a common technique. However, some wastes may release toxic materials when in contact with the leachates found in a municipal landfill. A laboratory leaching test to predict the release of hazardous materials is being developed. A synthetic leachate is modeled to provide a first-generation model of aggressive municipal leachate for use in a leaching test. (2 graphs, 8 tables)
