Algorithm for processor allocation in a dataflow multiprocessing environment

The authors deal with the problem of associating the operations of a program with the processors in a distributed dataflow environment. The objective is to develop an algorithm which partitions a given dataflow program and maps the blocks of the partition onto the processing elements of a general dataflow multiprocessing system. System performance is measured by the total processing time of the program. 5 references.
