Cottonseed oil as a diesel fuel substitute

Three cottonseed oil fuels with various degrees of processing were evaluated in a precombustion chamber diesel engine. Crude cottonseed oil was found to be an unsatisfactory fuel. Increased processing lessened carbon buildup in engine but did not decrease it to the level for diesel fuel.
