Small-angle elastic scattering of /sup 152/Eu and /sup 154/Eu. gamma. rays

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. A; (United States)
Differential cross sections for the elastic scattering of 344-, 411-, 444-, 723-, 779-, 868-, 964-, 1005-, 1086-, 1112-, 1275-, and 1408-keV ..gamma.. rays by /sub 29/Cu, /sub 42/Mo, /sub 50/Sn, /sub 73/Ta, /sub 82/Pb, and /sub 92/U have been measured for scattering angles of 2/sup 0/, 3/sup 0/, 5/sup 0/, 7/sup 0/, and 10/sup 0/. These cross sections generally agree to better than 15% with theoretical cross sections for Rayleigh plus nuclear Thomson scattering, where the Rayleigh scattering amplitudes have been represented by relativistic Hartree-Fock-Slater modified form-factor amplitudes.
