This paper reports on two types of aluminum stabilized superconducting cables: soldered and pressed were investigated. The paper describes cables, manufactured from multifilamentary NbTi/Cu wires in high purity aluminum, or copper-clad aluminum matrix with a cross-section of 4 {times} 9 and 4.6 {times} 37 mm{sup 2}. Dependence of critical current and quench current for two cable samples using a superconducting transformer method was studied. Dependencies of contact resistance on the interface superconductor-aluminum matrix on transport current and magnetic field from 0 to 3 T, respectively were studied.
