Trends in refinery capacity and utilization

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5361052

In the June 1976 issue of this publication, it was estimated that the 1976 growth in U.S. refinery crude oil distillation capacity would be about 899,000 barrels per calendar day (B/CD). Between the publication date of the June 1976 issue of this report and December 1976, several other new refinery projects, brought onstream in 1976 and totaling 80,000 B/CD of crude oil distillation capacity, were brought to the author's attention. The addition of the total capacity of these later projects to the June 1976 projection brought 1976 projected new refinery crude oil distillation capacity to about 979,000 B/CD.
