The feasibility of retrofitting the Lower City Dam near Paris, Kentucky for power generation was examined. This run-of-the-river dam was built before 1900 to power a now defunct mill and is used for the municipal water supply. The study of environmental, institutional, safety, and economic factors showed that the site flow is very small, average daily discharge is 294 cfs, and the plant factor is very low. Therefore, development of hydroelectric power at this site does not appear to be economically feasible. (LCL)
