The rapid development of biotechnology has presented a number of new problems to the power engineering industry that require departure from traditional solutions in combined energy generation, utilization of secondary energy resources, meeting the ecological requirements, etc. In this paper, the thermal engineering and energy aspects of designing specialized power equipment for biotechnology and biological power engineering are discussed; the technical and economic expediency of applying new thermal schemes and new equipment in combined energy generation is shown.
