Transverse momenta of hadrons in inclusive reactions in the quark-gluon string model

In the framework of the quark-gluon string model we propose a mechanism of taking into account the dependence of the distribution functions of quarks, diquarks, and of their fragmentation into hadrons on the transverse momentum {ital k}{sub {perpendicular}}. We assume the successive distribution of {ital k}{sub {perpendicular}} among 2{ital n}-quark-antiquark chains (or {ital n}-pomeron showers). We analyze hadron and hadron-nucleus processes: we calculate the {ital x} dependence of the average transverse momentum of pions in {ital pp} collisions and the inclusive spectra of hadrons in {ital pA} interactions at fixed and at different transverse momenta of the hadrons. In this approach we obtain a strong dependence of the observable quantities on the number {ital n}, which is especially important in analyzing hadron-nucleus collisions.
