The quark{endash}parton model is used to obtain expressions for the lowest-order electromagnetic corrections to the leptonic current in deep inelastic lepton{endash}nucleon scattering in a semi-inclusive experiment. The corrections are calculated numerically in a wide kinematical range for {mu}{ital p}({ital ep}) scattering processes when {mu}{pi}{sup +}({ital e}{pi}{sup +}) is detected in the final state for lepton energies {ital E}=30{endash}200 GeV (10{endash}16 GeV). It is shown that in most of the region studied the electromagnetic corrections do not exceed 15% (30%) of the Born cross section. The possibility of using the peak approximation to calculate the electromagnetic corrections to such processes is studied.
