In this presentation, a cloud package which is capable of parameterizing both subgrid scale cumulus convection and grid scale condensation is described. The cloud package, called SUNAS, has been incorporated into the NCAR CCM2 global climate model. The package uses the Arakawa-Schubert scheme for convective clouds, and the Sundqvist method for the prognostic computation of cloud liquid water for stratiform clouds. Preliminary results are very briefly presented. The SUNAS cloud package appears to realistically represent overall cloud water distribution. The SUNAS implementation also has a significant effect on the temperature and moisture distributions in the model climate. 9 refs., 2 figs.
