Eight number6 lead pellets placed in the ventriculus of mallard drakes induced maturation arrest of promegaloblastic-like erythroid cells in the bone marrow, a hypochromic microcytic anemia with poikilocytosis in the peripheral blood, and acid-fast intranuclear inclusions in the renal proximal tubule cells.
