Simplified solutions for problems of EMP-induced currents in buried cables

The time waveform of currents, induced by EMP in buried cables, is determined numerically using a Fast Fourier Transform algorithm. The results are displayed graphically as a function of the electromagnetic properties of the ground and the distance of the cable below the surface. The solution is obtained by a procedure using graphs and simple calculations.
