Radical pairs in irradiated aromatic crystals. [77/sup 0/K;. gamma. radiation]

Radical pair formation is observed in irradiated aromatic crystals by EPR technique. Single crystals of benzene anthracene and naphthalene were irradiated at 77/sup 0/K by /sup 60/Co ..gamma.. rays up to a dose of 10/sup 9/ rads. The EPR spectra of the resulting species is reported. (AIP)
