Diffusivity of titanium alloys in the solid and liquid states

The authors present results of the measurement of the diffusivity of commercial titanium alloys OT4, VT20, VT3-1, VT8, and VT9 and monocrystalline titanium in the temperature range 1000-2000 K. The chemical composition of the titanium-alloy specimens studied is shown. It is shown that the alloying elements have a significant effect on the diffusivity of titanium alloys in the polymorphic transformation range and during melting. In the B-region, the diffusivity polytherms of alloys OT4, VT20, VT2-1, VT8, and VT9 are close to the diffusivity polytherms of pure titanium.
