This patent describes a process for selectively producing middle distillate hydrocarbons by hydrocracking and isomerizing a hydrocarbonaceous feed wherein at least 90% of the feed has a boiling point above about 600{sup 0}F. It comprises: contacting under hydrocracking conditions wherein the pressure is from about 200 psig to about 3000 psig and a conversion of greater than about 50%, the hydrocarbonaceous feed with a catalyst comprising a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve having a three-dimensional microporous crystal framework structure of tetrahedral units; and recovering a hydrocarbonaceous effluent wherein more than about 40% by volume of the effluent boils above about 300{sup 0}F and below about 725{sup 0}F and has a pour point below 0{sup 0}F.
