We address several possible implications of the triplet-Majoron (TM) model for supernova physics, such as cooling and rapid deleptonization. We find that recent observations of the neutrinos from SN1987A are consistent with the TM model even if the ..nu../sub e/..nu../sub e/-Majoron coupling constant is g/sub e//sub e/approx. =0.7 x 10/sup -3/ suggested by a recent ..beta beta..-decay experiment. We find specifically that deleptonization via ..nu../sub e/..nu../sub e/..-->..chi/sup 0/, followed by conversion to chi-bar/sup 0/, is unlikely to be important for this value of g/sub e//sub e/;however, if g/sub e//sub e/approx. =g/sub ..mu..//sub ..mu../approx. =g/sub tau//sub tau/, neutrino species equilibration via ..nu../sub e/..nu../sub e/..--> nu../sub ..mu../..nu../sub ..mu../ and ..nu../sub e/..nu../sub e/..--> nu../sub tau/..nu../sub tau/ is likely to occur on a time scale of )similarreverse arrowto)10/sup -4/ sec. Rapid equilibration, followed by decay in flight via ..nu../sub ..mu../(..nu../sub tau/)..-->..nu-bar/sub e/+chi/sup 0/, can dramatically enhance the chance of observing neutronization neutrinos, even for g/sub ..mu..//sub e//sup 2/ and g/sub tau//sub e//sup 2/approx. =10/sup -18/. This last effect might be detected in nearby supernovas
