Experiments in high power microwave susceptibility simulation issues

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5333516
When testing the back-door coupling susceptibility of realistic systems to high power microwaves, several important issues emerge. This paper addresses the following issues through linear experiments on generic test objects: behavior of the receiving pattern with frequency and direction of incidence (theta, phi); whole body vs partial illumination of a test object having multiple ports of entry (POE's); and internal propagation of the coupled energy inside electrically large test objects having complex interiors.
