The effect of H{sub 2}O{sub 2} content on the uptake of SO{sub 2} by aqueous droplets has been measured. For pH < 4, SO{sub 2} gas uptake increased when the aqueous solution was doped with (H{sub 2}O{sub 2}) up to 2 M. The dependence of the rate of uptake on (H{sub 2}O{sub 2}) is consistent with the reaction rate of H{sub 2}O{sub 2} with S(IV) measured in bulk aqueous solutions indicating that the droplet surface does not play a significant role in the H{sub 2}O{sub 2}-S(IV) reaction.
