The latest results and theories concerning both mechanistic and industrial aspects of pyrolysis reactions and processes are presented. The main emphasis is on the production of light olefins, although important by-products frequently include diolefins, aromatics, pyrolysis gasoline and even insome cases acetylenic compounds. Fundamental aspects of the formation and gasification of coke are discussed.
