Observations of some rotational transitions of NHD by microwave optical double resonance

The frequencies of the fine and hyperfine structure components of several electric and magnetic dipole transitions in the ground state of NHD in the range 4--12 GHz have been measured using microwave optical double resonance. The transition 1/sub 10/-1/sub 11/ near 73 GHz has also been detected. The latter transition in particular has important implications for the detection of NHD in the interstellar gas clouds.
