Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5310187

In 1981, the Koppers Coke Company Site was listed on the National Priorities List, due to extensive ground-water contamination. The 38-acre site, located in St. Paul, Minnesota, is a former coking facility that began operation in 1918. Eighteen contaminants have been identified in ground water from the surficial aquifer. Contamination has been found at a number of monitoring wells on-site and off-site, and at a residential well, a commercial well, and a cemetery well. The site is considered to be of potential public health concern because of the risk to human health caused by the possibility of exposure to hazardous substances via ground water.
