An aqueous acid containing oil and gas well treating solution is described which consists of: (a) an aqueous acid continuous phase; (b) a C/sub 4/ to C/sub 10/ substantially water insoluble aliphatic alcohol; and (c) an effective amount of a phosphate ester surfactant to render the alcohol soluble in the aqueous acid continuous phase.
