Title: Site safety plan for Site 300 environmental restoration

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/5302237· OSTI ID:5302237

Various Department of Energy Orders incorporate by reference health and safety regulations promulgated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). One of the OSHA regulations requires that site-specific safety plans are written for activities such as those covered by work plans for Site 300 environmental investigations. Based upon available data, this Site Safety Plan (Plan) for environmental restoration has been prepared specifically for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) Site 300 located approximately 15 miles east of Livermore, California. As additional facts, monitoring data, or analytical data on hazards are provided, this Plan may need to be modified. It is the responsibility of the Environmental Restoration Safety Officer (ERSO), with the assistance of Hazards Control to evaluate data which may impact health and safety during these activities and to modify the Plan as appropriate. It should not be viewed that this Plan is cast-in-concrete.'' The ERSO shall have the authority, with the concurrence of Hazards Control to institute any change to maintain health and safety protection for workers at the LLNL site. 30 refs.
