Evaluation of seismic amplitude versus offset techniques for direct detection of gas reservoirs. Annual report, November 1991-November 1992

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5301176
The objective of the 2.5 year project is to improve the effectiveness of amplitude-versus-offset (AVO) as a direct hydrocarbon indicator tool, especially among independent producers. The project integrates many of the diverse aspects of AVO analysis such as seismic processing, modeling and measuring rock properties through logging. The project will culminate in the publication of a guide to AVO analysis for the Gulf Coast entitled Seismic amplitude versus offset: Case histories and modeling studies.
