We successfully synthesized a superconducting intercalated graphite fiber for the first time. Intercalation was carried out for a highly graphitized fiber (diameter 150 {mu}m) with potassium mercury at an elevated temperature. The fiber consists of a pure first-stage structure C{sub 4}KHg and exhibits a superconducting transition at 1.4 K.
