Ion temperature gradient driven drift cyclotron instabilities
The role of ion temperature gradient driven drift cyclotron instabilities in both mirror machines and tokamaks is examined. Destabilizing temperature gradient modifications to the drift cyclotron loss cone mode are found to exist even when the loss cone is completely filled.
