Emission of fast helium nuclei in interaction of high-energy hadrons with emulsion nuclei

The change in the principal characteristics of emission of helium nuclei with E/sub kin/>100 MeV with change in primary-particle energy is studied in the range from 7.5 to 200 GeV. It is shown that emission of complex particles occurs primarily from disintegrations of heavy emulsion nuclei. The momentum distribution of helium nuclei and the distribution of gray tracks in the quantity ..delta..psi=vertical-barpsi/sub He/-psi/sub g/vertical-bar are presented. It is suggested that doubly charged particles are emitted as the result of the elastic interaction of very fast nucleons with complex substructures in the nucleus.
