Mass of /sup 24/Si

The /sup 28/Si(/sup 4/He,/sup 8/He)/sup 24/Si reaction has been used to determine the mass of /sup 24/Si. The reaction Q value and mass excess were found to be -61.443 +- 0.021 and 10.782 +- 0.022 MeV, respectively. The /sup 24/Si mass completes the fifth member of the A=24 isobaric quintet. The quintet members are in good agreement with the quadratic isobaric multiplet mass equation.
