Discussion of new pressure transient analysis methods for naturally fractured reservoirs

Journal Article · · J. Pet. Technol.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5290443

This article analyzes the well testing data of a naturally fractured reservoir by matching the observed data. The importance of obtaining excellent early-time pressure data in naturally fractured reservoirs is emphasized. Buildup pressures are calculated and the hypothesis that the existence of an intermediate regime represented by a straight line with a slope equal to one-half the slope of the early and late straight lines in a conventional Horner semilog plot is criticized.
