Economic study of low temperature geothermal energy in Lassen and Modoc Counties, California

This report investigates the feasibility of using low cost, low temperature geothermal energy in job-producing industries to increase employment and encourage economic development. The study, encompassing all of Lassen and Modoc Counties, is site-specific, referencing candidate geothermal applications to known hot wells and springs. The emphasis is placed on economically practical and readily achievable applications from known resources. Land-use planning, institutional aspects, geological assessments, technical modeling and socioeconomic impacts are examined.
