The authors investigate the relationship of corrosion fatigue failure and the rules of change in mechanoelectrochemical properties of stainless steels of different classes for determination of the damage mechanism and corrosion resistance based on microstructural considerations. Corrosion resistant steels of the martensitic (20Kh13), austenitic-martensitic (08Kh17N6T), and austenitic (NN-3B) classes were tested for fracture and hydrogen embrittlement behavior under electrochemical corrosion.
