The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) 1979 annual report looks forward to the challenge of meeting the region's power needs in a way that will be safe, efficient, and reasonably priced; meeting the region's environmental needs of balancing land use between development and preservation; and meeting the human needs by enabling a better and more equitable life for the poor and the elderly. A new format is used in the report to make TVA projects understandable to the public, which is encouraged to participate in the discussion of issues and in the planning of agency projects. The report is presented under the following topics: Energy, Nuclear Safety, Environment, Agriculture, Land Use, Recreation, and Economic Development.
