This legislation prohibits the export from and import into the United States of Hazardous and additional waste except in compliance with the requirements of this bill. The purpose of this act is to implement the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal, done at Basel, Switzerland, March 22, 1989.
