Analysis of low alloy steels by wavelength dispersive x-ray spectrometry. Final report

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/5281244· OSTI ID:5281244
A method was developed to determine the concentrations of silicon, phosphorus, chromium, manganese, nickel, and molybdenum in low alloy steels by using wavelength dispersive x-ray spectrometry. This method incorporates the use of a 24-position sample carousel for unattended operation and a minicomputer for data collection and analysis. The concentration of the six elements of interest is calculated using a fundamental parameters computer program for x-ray fluorescence analyses.
