The application of coal liquids, coal gas, and direct combustion of coal in fluidized beds is considered in the repowering of oil fired reheat steam power plants. Combustion turbines are integrated into the plant and, in some cases, combustion turbine supercharging is included. The coal liquid applications are treated as configurations in which the fuel is delivered to the plant site much like the distillate oils. 8 refs.
