Spectra of cumulative protons in the process. gamma. /sup 12/C. -->. pX at a bremsstrahlung maximum energy 4. 5 GeV

Experimental energy and angular distributions are presented for inclusive protons emitted from the /sup 12/C nucleus bombarded by bremsstrahlung with maximum energy 4.5 GeV. The protons were detected in the range of angles 20--120/sup 0/ and momenta 0.4--1.3 GeV/c. It is shown that the energy distributions of photoprotons in the case of cumulative production are satisfactorily described by an exponential, while for noncumulative protons the spectrum is flattened out in the high-energy region. The experimental data obtained are analyzed from the point of view of a number of theoretical models proposed for description of cumulative particle production.
