Estimate of H dibaryon production through {Lambda}{Lambda} coalescence in p+A collisions

We estimate the production cross section of H dibaryons in proton-nucleus collisions, modeling the H formation as the coalescence of two {Lambda} particles. We survey coalescence calculations made in this and other contexts, and comment on the assumptions inherent in estimates such as ours. The results depend on the unknown H wave function, which we attempt to incorporate via a parametrization of its momentum scale. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
