Selecting processing options for high-fracture toughness titanium airframe forgings

The available composition/processing alternatives for increasing the fracture toughness of Ti--6Al--4V and Ti--6Al--6V--2Sr are compared and evaluated, using production data whenever possible. Tradeoffs with other properties, uniformity, ease of production, and cost in production of airframe forgings are discussed. (SDF)
