Patent ·
OSTI ID:5268289
This patent describes a multi-use valve system adapted for placement in the fuel supply system of a first vehicle's engine. The valve system comprising: a valve body; a valve core adjustably associated with the valve body; a first conduit mounted in the valve body to communicate with the valve core. The first conduit being associated with a fuel tank of the first vehicle. The first conduit being adapted for conveying fuel between the valve core and the first vehicle's fuel tank; a second conduit mounted in the valve body to communicate with the valve core. The second conduit being associated with a carburetor of the first vehicle; the second conduit being adapted for conveying fuel between the valve core and the carburetor; a third conduit mounted in the valve body to communicate with the valve core. The third conduit being associable with a second fuel system tank, the third conduit being adapted for conveying fuel between the valve core and the second fuel system; a fourth conduit mounted in the valve body to communicate with the valve core. The fourth conduit being adapted for conveying fuel between the valve core and the fuel pump; wherein the valve core includes a plurality of channels adjustable between two distinct conditions, a first condition wherein the core channels interconnect the first conduit with the fourth conduit, whereby fuel is received from the first vehicle's fuel tank, passed through the fuel pump and carburetor; and a second condition wherein the core channels interconnect the third conduit to the fourth conduit, and the second conduit to the first conduit whereby fuel is received from a second vehicle's fuel system, passed from the fuel pump to the carburetor and any excess fuel is directed to the first vehicle's fuel tank.
