Intermediate-coupling collision strengths for transitions between doubly excited levels produced by electron impact on highly charged He-like ions

Journal Article · · At. Data Nucl. Data Tables; (United States)

Coulomb-Born-Exchange data for intermediate-coupling scaled collision strengths Z/sup 2/..cap omega.. for fine-structure transitions of type 2l/sub a/2l/sub b/ /sup 2S/a+1L/sub a/Ja- 2l/sub a/2l'/sub b/ /sup 2S/'/sub a/+1L/sup '//sub a/J'/sub a/ or 2l/sub a/2l/sub b/(j/sub a/j/sub b/-2l/sub a/2l'/sub b/(j/sup '//sub a/j/sup '//sub b/) /sub J//sup '//sub 2/ between the doubly excited levels in He-like ions with 6< or =Z< or =74 are fitted by simple functions of the impact-electron energy epsilon in threshold units. To obtain collision rates these functions can be readily integrated over a Maxwellian energy-distribution function for the electrons. Fits to the data for transitions between energy terms are also included. In addition results are given for the transition energies and electric-dipole radiative line strengths. The basic collision-strength data cover impact-electron energies < or =3.25Z/sup 2/ Ry or 44.2Z/sup 2/ eV.
