Theoretical isochrones for globular clusters with predicted BVRI and Stroemgren photometry

New stellar evolutionary sequences and isochrones, calculated for metallicities and ages appropriate to the Galactic globular clusters, are presented on the Johnson UBV, Cousins RI, and Stroemgren uvby photometric systems. Based on improved integrations of appropriate dwarf model atmospheres, the color-temperature relations used to transpose the models from the theoretical to the observational plane are (also) fully tabulated. The isochrones have been extended down to M/sub v/roughly-equal8 in order that they may be compared over the full range in main-sequence luminosity presently being achieved in CCD studies of globular clusters. Comparisons with recent such V, B-V data for M4, M15, and 47 Tuc indicate that the observations are faithfully reproduced by the present models. The potential importance of carrying out infrared and Stroemgren photometry of the globulars is also discussed.
