Analysis of elastic Li ion scattering with inclusion of disintegration

Within the framework of the adiabatic approximation with the use of the cluster approximation for the incident ion we have calculated elastic /sup 6/Li+/sup 28/Si scattering at 154 MeV. It is shown that the inclusion of the /sup 6/Li disintegration channel has a strong influence on the properties of the elastic scattering and significantly improves the agreement between theory and experiment.
