Third-party financing is injecting new life into US cogeneration projects

Journal Article · · Gas Turbine World; (United States)
OSTI ID:5261984
As much as 70% of the US's small energy efficiency projects will be developed and financed by third parties by the end of this decade. At present, third party financing for industrial and commercial cogeneration projects in the $1-5 million range constitutes a financing vacuum because many financial institutions won't bother with anything under $20 million despite the fact that most cogeneration projects are well below that figure. A new finance lease concept - shared savings lease - is discussed.
