This document (in two volumes) contains the proceedings from the Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP `97) held in Reno, Nevada, March 23-26, 1997. This symposium was sponsored by the Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society. Presentations at this symposium covered a wide range of topics including: radioactive waste management,environmental and engineering problem in mining, borehole geophysics, environmental site assessment, research and new technologies, 3-D tomography, aquifer characterization and hydrology, plume identification, detection of unexploded ordnance, marine geophysics, and borehole geophysics.
