Characteristics of wheat grown with sewage sludge placed at different soil depths

The effects of sewage sludge-amended soil on plant growth and elemental uptake are investigated. Sludge was placed at three different depths in columns of clay loam soil to determine which depth provides maximum growth and uptake of nutrients by wheat. Wheat planted on sludge-amended soils applied to column surfaces evidenced maximum growth rates. Concentrations of cadmium and copper were highest in these samples.
