Systematic errors of the determination of the cadmium ratio of neutron capture rates in slightly enriched uranium

Comparison of many experimental methods and investigation of their systematic errors are indicated for the measurement of the ratio of the epicadmium /sup 238/U neutron capture rate to the subcadmium /sup 238/U capture rate in a slightly /sup 235/U-enriched (1.143 percent) fuel rod. An explanation of the discrepancy between theory and experiment is given.
