This work discusses methods of exact solutions of Einstein's field equations, in particular for twisting Petrov type N gravitational fields. We define a null tetrad, derive abstract field equations, then introduce a coordinate system and derive the field equations in this coordinate system. Finally we discuss the allowed tetrad and coordinate transformations. In the course of our discussion, a two-form satisfying the source free Maxwell equations was discovered. Furthermore we have shown that its one-form vector potential is not a killing vector field. Finally, a new invariant characterization for the Hauser solution, the only known TTN solution, is exhibited.
