The authors discuss melt-spun ribbons of Nd-Pr-Fe-Co-B system alloys prepared by the single roller rapid-quenching method, and the effects of composition and substrate surface velocity on the magnetic properties. A maximum energy product was obtained with (Nd/sub 0.5/Pr/sub 0.5/)/sub 11/Fe/sub 72/Co/sub 8/B/sub 9/ alloy ribbon prepared at substrate surface velocity of 17.1m/s. The reversible temperature coefficient of the ribbon magnet of (Nd/sub 0.5/Pr/sub 0.5/)/sub 11/Fe/sub 72/Co/sub 8/B/sub 9/ was {alpha}(J/sub r/)=0.076%/{sup 0}C.
