National air-quality and emissions-trends report, 1986

This report presents national and regional trends in air quality from 1977 through 1986 for total suspended particulate, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, and lead. Air-pollution trends were also examined for the 5-year period (1982-86). Both national and regional trends in each of these pollutants are examined. National air-quality trends are also presented for both the National Air Monitoring Sites (NAMS) and other site categories. The report also includes a section, Air Quality Levels in Metropolitan Statistical Areas.
